Phang Nga is a shallow bay with 42 islands, the most famous of which is the so-called James Bond Island, a 20 meters needle formed rock in the sea, which featured in the 1974 movie The Man with the Golden Gun. Starting from 1981 the Phang Nga Bay was announced to be a National Park in order to protect its natural unique character.
